Considering a visit to Universal Orlando Resort? There are a few things you can do that will turn your vacation from okay to ah-freaking-mazing!
I remember our very first trip which we did on a dime. Like almost literally. It was a last-minute trip and we were on a tight budget. I decided this was an excellent opportunity to see what a Universal vacation would be like on the cheapest budget possible. I have done this sort of thing often, that is, tried alternative experiences so I can advise clients with true expertise. So, with intention, we set out on our very first visit to Universal.
For starters, we stayed in a value resort. Now, let me say this, there is nothing wrong with a value resort, the food was good and the accommodations were comfortable, the resort gorgeous, but if you are an avid theme park rider, this can be daunting. Wait times were long and at the end of the day, we thought our feet would fall off from all the standing in long lines.
Long wait times also meant that we had less time to explore, we didn't get to see as many shows, and of course, got to ride fewer rides less often. Needless to say, from that point forward, we have stayed at our favorite Premier Resort, the Royal Pacific. That leads me to the following, check out these tips below to get the most out of your Universal vacation.
✨ Consider staying on-site: Staying at one of Universal's on-site hotels has several perks, including early park admission, complimentary transportation to the parks, and more. Plus, you'll be in the heart of the action and won't have to worry about parking.
✨ Consider the Express Pass: If you want to avoid lines, consider purchasing the Express Pass (or staying at a Premier Resort for free Unlimited Express Passes), which allows you to skip the regular lines for most attractions.
✨ Prioritize your must-do attractions: Universal Orlando Resort has many attractions and shows, so it's important to prioritize which ones you absolutely want to experience. Check out the park maps and plan your day accordingly to make the most of your time.
✨ Enjoy the shows: Universal Orlando offers a variety of shows throughout the day, so be sure to check the schedule and catch a few during your visit.
✨ Use the Universal app: The Universal Orlando app is a great resource for park maps, ride wait times, and show schedules.
✨Plan for breaks: With so much to see and do, it's important to take breaks and rest throughout the day.
✨ Don't miss the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: This immersive area of the park is a must-see for Harry Potter fans. Don't forget to try all of the forms of Butterbeer-flavored foods you can get!
✨ Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Alternatively, you can purchase a rechargeable/refillable cup (you can even get slushies in this).
✨ Wear comfortable shoes and clothing to make the most of your day at the park and bring an extra pair of shoes (and plenty of socks) in case you get yours wet on the water rides.
✨ Bring ponchos: The weather can change so quickly in Florida, so it's best to be prepared in case you need to make a quick dash out of the parks.
